This moving album climbed to #4 on the Top Contemporary Christian charts. With the title track written by the hit-making team Michael and Stormie Omartian, and Sincerely Yours written by singer-songwriter Gary Chapman, Friends for Life was Debby Boone’s last Christian album comprised of all new material.
On the heels of her 1977 Best New Artist Grammy win and 10-week run at #1 with You Light Up My Life – the most successful single of the 1970s, Debby Boone won two more Grammy awards in the Gospel and Inspirational categories, and two Gospel Music Association Dove awards.
